Design Tips

The Basics

Integral to a design's effectiveness are well-written content, expert organization, attractive graphics, accessible communication, secure e-commerce, and an easy to remember domain name. Here are just a few suggestions to help you get started and help your business develop trust with first-time visitors.

Taking It to the Web

At a minimum, you can use the Internet to act as a detailed promotional brochure. If you are like most businesses, you can easily promote your products or services and answer the most frequently asked questions — providing everything a typical customer needs to know to do business with you — in a dozen web pages or less. If you already have marketing literature for your business, but little time, you might consider asking us to develop a preliminary design incorporating key information from those documents.

Organization

Simplicity in design helps your customers accomplish their goals quickly and easily. Organize your site so that first-time visitors will be able to find what they need without unnecessary effort.

Content

Give your visitors what they want. Keep your content simple and to the point. Be truthful and up-to-date. Use a tone that respects every type of visitor.

Graphics

Communication

E-Commerce

Whatever e-commerce solution you choose (optional), it must be both secure and easy for visitors to use.

Domain Name

Select a domain name that is easy to remember. Try to use the least amount of letters to convey the name or concept of your business.

Web Host

Make sure your web host can provide the features and flexibility that your site needs. This includes 24-7 online access, enough data storage, and web software to run any special applications.
